Manufacturing and Applied Technologies Cluster Programs

Electrical Engineering Technology

Electrical Engineering Technology- Are you interested in entering the manufacturing sector? An Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) prepares you for employment in high-demand fields such as automation and control, PLC programming and wiring, robotics, motors and controls, fluid power, and electro-mechanical system support.

Mechanical Engineering Technology

Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) is the practical application of engineering and scientific principles for the purpose of designing, inspecting, and manufacturing quality products. A state-of-the-art facility provides hands-on training in machining and turning, computer-aided design, CNC programming, and precision measurement. MET graduates assume a wide range of responsibilities in the precision manufacturing industry. In addition, graduates are skillfully prepared for the competitive job market and the opportunity to transfer to Northeastern University for a bachelor’s degree.

Optics and Photonics Technology

Optics and Photonics Technology involves the practical application of light, optics, and electronics in applications including laser materials processing, fiber optic communications, precision optical manufacturing and metrology, aerospace and defense, homeland security, medical device fabrication, nanotechnology, and many others. The program equips engineering technicians with the knowledge of lasers, optics, and electronics, which are needed to design, test and maintain complex optics and photonics systems. Students have access to several laser, optics, and photonics labs including a hologram lab, fiber optics lab, and laser engravers.
